The spacious venue welcomed hundreds of local families, who gathered to enjoy a safe and festive Halloween atmosphere under the October night sky. With vibrant themes and eye-catching decorations at every “trunk,” the event offered a magical experience for young trick-or-treaters. Booths were adorned with everything from classic spooky motifs to imaginative, interactive setups. The cheerful hum of music filled the grounds, adding a festive beat as children danced and families mingled in a lively celebration. The event showcased the strong bonds within the McEwen community, with St. Patrick’s friends from First Baptist and United Methodist of McEwen joining in. Local heroes, including members of the McEwen Police and Fire Departments and Gill’s Wrecker Service, participated alongside parish members, business owners, and volunteers. This spirit of unity highlighted the enduring friendships and community commitment that St. Vincent de Paul represents. A highlight of the evening was the free food, with volunteers serving up 700 hot dogs and 11 gallons of homemade chili, eagerly enjoyed by the crowd as they celebrated together. The Irish Picnic Grounds proved to be an ideal setting, allowing space for more activities and an inviting atmosphere that many felt enhanced the event’s magic. From creative spaces overflowing with candy to the familiar faces and heartfelt connections, the evening underscored the values of friendship, spirituality, and service. With plans already underway to make next year’s Trunk-or-Treat even bigger and better, this annual gathering has become more than just a Halloween tradition—it’s a community celebration of unity and joy.
