Baptism is the first of seven sacraments. Baptism frees us from Original Sin and is necessary for salvation. Baptism should take place as soon as possible following birth. Children 7 years of age and younger are considered infants.
Please contact the Parish Office to schedule a meeting with the parents for Baptism.
God who is love and created man and woman for love has called them to love. By creating man and woman he called them to an intimate commuion of life and of love in marriage: "So that they are no longer two, but one flesh" (Matthew 19:6). God said to them in blessing "Be fruitful and multiply" (Genesis 1:28) (CCC1605)
Church law directs that Catholics receive marriage preparation and be married in the Church. Please contact the office at least four months prior to the wedding to begin preparation. Advent and Lent are Penitential Seasons; weddings are discouraged during these seasons.
Through the ministry of the priest, it is Jesus who touches the sick to heal them from sin - and sometimes even from physical ailment. The Rite of Anointing tells us there is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to recieve the Sacrament. A careful judgment about the serious nature of the illness is sufficient.
Anyone in danger of death from illness, the elderly, anyone participating in surgery or who are seriously ill should receive the sacrament. Please contact Father Zack at (931) 582-3633, ext 321 or by emergency cell at (931) 622-0398.
